Understanding Credit & Debit Brought Forward

A child's account may carry a credit or debit balance forward, depending on past payments and the account status.

  • Credit Brought Forward: This occurs when an overpayment has been made, resulting in a positive account balance.

  • Debit Brought Forward: Indicates an outstanding payment, meaning the account is in debt. This amount will automatically be included in the next generated invoice.

Transferring from Another Provider

If you are migrating from another system, a child’s account may already have an outstanding credit or debit balance. This is where you can use the balance adjustment feature. To add a credit or debit navigate to:

  • Children > Child > Finance > Transactions > Click the three dots > Select Balance Adjustment

  • Enter the amount & adjust the debit/credit toggle

  • Click Save to set the opening balance.

When you raise the first invoice, this credit or debit will automatically pull through.
